Pleasing the Sis

Alright this one is to calm you down, big sis. I am alive and doing well. Things have been very busy. I got back from klondike on Sunday. It was fun. My patrol didn't get any firsts, but we had plenty of seconds and thirds. I'll blame it on connor roeckel lol. However, we had to listen to this troop's annoying chant. Also, it got down to 8 degrees. A balmy day in Wyoming lol. Then I got ready for school and went yesterday. Had basketball practice and a chick joined! Then I had more than three hours of training for volunteering. Some of my teachers are very interesting, like my physics teacher Samuel milazzo. So there's my update. I'll post soon with more updates and the next 10 life lessons. Until then, I'll leave you with a humorous quote from my physics teacher: All science is either physics or stamp collecting.

Updates

Sup Sup everybody!!  Things once again be happening.  Today was a hard day.  First off, we went off the grid for a couple hours when our modem went kablooey.  Even my game requires internet!  In the end, I had to resort to actually working.  I put away the tree and all the ornaments, which is a lot harder than it sounds because we  have so many ornaments and there are so many boxes.  So that's whats up.

Next 10 life lessons:
11. Make peace with your past so it doesn't screw up the present.
12. It's okay to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be kept secret, you shouldn't be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye.  But don't worry; God never blinks.
16. Life is too short for long pity parties. Get busy living, or get busy dying.
17. You can get through anything life hands you if you stay put in the day you are in and don't jump ahead.
18. A writer is someone who writes.  If you want to be a writer, write.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood.  But the second one is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

No update on the dance front, but it is Feb 24, so no worries yet.

Hope this day finds you well.  And another thing from this book: Say every morning: "This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice in it and be glad."  And sometimes: "Thank you, God, for another day of life.  Give me the grace to live this day deeply, fully, and joyfully."  This was in the chapter on lesson 17.

Things be Happenings

First off, sorry to my big sis for not posting this earlier. I have a lot of things happening. Today I actually got together with friends. I went bowling with student government people. I sucked and didn't win, which frustrated my competitive self. Oh well. In the next few days I will be doing many things. I have an orientation for volunteering at the hospital and then I go camping over the weekend. Then school starts and I start playing basketball with CSEC. So that's what's up.

I've also been reading a book called God Never Blinks, which shares the lessons a woman has learned throughout her life. I figure I will share the first 10.
1. Life isn't fair, but it is still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next right step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Don't take yourself so seriously. Nobody else does.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It is more healing than crying alone.
8. It is okay to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. The most important sex organ is the brain.
10. God never gives us more than we were designed to carry.

I hope you can take some meaningful guidance out of that.

To end, here's hoping a girl asks me out to the Sadie Hawkins dance. My new Axe deodorant should help lol.

First Post

My first post. I feel like this should be a momentous occasion, but it's really not. Today was a, as I like to say, bummish day. I woke up way too early to take my sis to the airport and then watched a special advance showing of Joyful Noise. Man Dolly Parton does not look good. Then I shopped for hiking boots and then slept for almost 4 hours (the highlight of my day). Things are settling back into normal. My sis has abandoned me for college lol and I will soon start school. As the Beatles say Ob-la-di Ob-la-da. Tomorrow: b-ball and tackling my todo list.
